What Happens Now?
Right now, Desiderium Gardens needs your help to come to life!
Please share this website with your Bi+ communities!
We are seeking funding for two years of operational costs at a rented space in downtown Olympia, and funding to purchase a ‘forever home’ to expand into in our third year. We’re also hoping to set up partnerships with local therapists & contractors who want to help us improve the quality of life for local Bi+ folx.
Desiderium Gardens Q&A
-
Bi+ is an umbrella term for people who recognize and honor their potential for sexual and emotional attraction to more than one gender (bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, fluid, queer, asexual, and other free-identifiers).
Monosexual is an umbrella term used for people with attraction to one gender (straight/heterosexual, gay/lesbian/homosexual).
Desiderium Gardens celebrates everyone’s rights to decide their own sexuality and use the identifiers they so choose— and provides its services to Bi+ folx who have unique needs not often understood, met, or prioritized by monosexual social programs.
Please see our “About” page for more info on local Bi+ communities’ needs.
-
In addition to individual mental health therapy sessions, Desiderium Gardens will offer space for therapists to run TTRPG therapy sessions.
Twice a month, Desiderium Gardens will open up to the public for Bi+ Community Center Days, for Bi+ folx to socialize over fun shared activities.
A few days each month, Desiderium Gardens will be available for rent for any event which supports local Bi+ communities, and/or local agriculture & healthcare workers. Revenue from renting the garden out will help afford the operational costs for the therapy garden.
In its second year, Desiderium Gardens will begin to offer edible plant CSAs and grocery credits to its clients who express a need for food security.

We are aiming to secure a space and open in Spring 2027. We don’t have a booking system just yet to set up appointments.
Please reach out to us through the ‘Contact’ page and we can email you with updates on how to become a client just as soon as we have a firmer opening date in mind. Thanks for your patience while we get going <3

Kitt, the owner & head gardener at Desiderium Gardens, moved to Olympia in 2021 after getting her MSc in Ethnobotany in the UK. She was raised in South & Central Texas, and has 30 years of gardening experience. She’s been an out & proud Bi+ advocate for over 15 years, and works hard to safeguard & support local Bi+ healthcare & economies against the effects of fascism & climate crises.
